Hello
All, My name
is Calvin, but my family calls me Callie... I am the 4th generation
of second sons to be named Cal... My Grand Pa is C.M.Brown,my
Dad is C.E. Brown, I am C.M.Brown, and my second son is C.T.
Brown...again, each of us is the second son...
I am originally from the great state of Arkansas, and I did live
there for about 3 or 4 years, but being an U.S.A.F. brat I
with my family moved often ... I have lived also live for some
years in Colorado, in fact I was in johnstown that warm august afternoon
when I heard form a friend who found me out riding my bike and told
me Elvis had just died. I was in 9 or 10 grade, I can't remember
off the top of my head...but soon after I moved back to Oklahoma...
I have 2 brothers and
a sis, the oldest is Jennifer Kaye, who resides in Enid Ok, in the
n.w. portion of the state...
Then there's Jimmy Eugene, who lives in Arizona, and then there
is my baby brother William Dale, who is a teacher in Oregon, and
has a new bride...YipEE!!!
My hobbies are many, but suffice it to say that I enjoy all things
out-o-doors... I have a deep love for Gods beautiful created
world, and find much pleasure in it... I look at Grizs' photo
and dream of being somewhere , anywhere so long as it be in "Oh
Canada", and one day ,with Gods grace I will get to Canada
for a "REEL" fish'n camp'n , hike'n , walk'n, bike'n,
'n, trip... My love
of music is known far-n-wide, but not my ability... I don't
have the best voice , but who cares, I sing because I'm happy, and
I sing because I'm free...
Iv'e was given the love of sing'n since before I could hold up a
hymnal... As I have said before I love the classics as well
as the new praise songs... I will tell you a story about when
I was young... I had
put a worm in the seat of another child (a girl) at the breakfast
table, and as a punishment I was asked to sit on the staircase (a
timeout) which was not called that back then , but it was
the custom in dealing with "rambunctious chillens"...
It wasn't long before I was heard singin' these words,
"Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
sweetest name I know...fills my every longing, keeps me singing
as I go..."
As found in the byline article by the cook of Rynard Cottage
in the "Care n Share" By Mrs Flloyd (Bonnie)Craig,
a woman of God whom I caught in the act of bedside prayer, and was
the picture of being a Godly woman and who was instrumental in teaching
me what it means to be a praying person... I love
the songs by Gene Bartlet songs
like :
Tell the good news...
Set my soul afire...
Here is my life***
We lift our hearts in songs of praise...
I love songs so many I can't name them all , but I also
love songs by : Petra
Harvest
The Imperials B.J.Thomas
Evie
Amy Grant (the early works) My
favorite food is Tex-mex, esp.refried beans, but I don't get them
much cause they keep falling thru the grill...
My favorite verses
are found in the songs of David, but I do love chapters 23,
and 42...esp... The
most important things in my life are My God, my Wife, and my children...
I meet Jesus
because of the love of some older couples who allowed themselves
to be used to be house parents to children who where without parents
or whose parents could not or would not raise their children...
As was my case...
I grew up in and out of this home and Foster homes...
The state took me from my devorced parents at the age of 4 and placed
me in the care of OKLAHOMA baptists, who were indeed faithful ...
I saw first hand
what the words "Defend the fatherless" meant and
how it is done... It was
because of these unsung champions of our faith , that I saw the
love of Jesus in the flesh...I may have missed out on a "regular"
family but I gained the knowledge of the "eternal family...Thank
God for His tender mercies, for His love endures forever...
My relation to Jesus is
that He is my loving Savior and closest Friend...
I recommend that if things look dark, look to the light of our path,
and no matter the stones along the way, He will smooth things out
if you but follow Him, no matter come what may...
Cal...
